Ribotsky Hopeful that PIPE Trade Group Will Educate Public Sector

One of the goals of the trade group Corey Ribotsky and the NIR Group plan to

establish for the PIPE investment space is education. Currently the U.S. government is using the special PIPE structure of financing everyday so that more people are becoming acquainted with this investment strategy.

Ribotsky is pleased that everyday more information about PIPEs become available to the benefit of the public, but he is also worried that some of the information is distorted. Ribotsky is hopeful that his trade group will provide the essential repository for accurate and useful information so that people can better understand just how PIPE transactions work.

Corey Ribotsky Initiates Trade Group

Corey Ribotsky told Opalesque on-line magazine that his investment firm, the NIR Group, is going to play a key role in the formation of a trade group for those involved in the PIPE investment space.  Included in this unique trade group will be all those involved in the PIPE space, including investors, service providers like lawyers, accountants and others.

Although the NIR Group itself tends to focus on micro to small cap companies the trade group will extend membership also to those in the mid to large cap market. Those involved in the larger cap markets will include placement agents, broker dealers, investment banks and more.

Corey Ribotsky Appoints New Head of Structured Equity Investments

 David Ratzker was named as a new portfolio manager at the NIR Group, an alternative investment firm.  Ratzker will be reporting to the Managing Member and Head Portfolio Manager, Corey Ribotsky. NIR manages a large variety of investment strategies, including direct equity investments, commodities and real estate. Ratzker will head NIR’s structured equity investments.

Ratzker’s responsibilities will include overseeing equity investments in publicly traded companies. The goal of these portfolios are to give the issuers faster access to capital as well as other increased control and flexibility of the issuance of capital.

Explaining the new appointment of David Ratzker as the new head of NIR’s structured equity investments, Corey Ribotsky said, “With Bank of America recently raising over 13 billion though a similar structure, it is clear that this is the best environment for this strategy that I have seen in 15 years. David is uniquely qualified and we are confident he will identify attractive investment opportunities.” Ratzker responded, “I’m excited to join a pioneer in the direct investment space and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued success.”

Philanthropy: Ribotsky & NIR

Corey  Ribotsky, who heads the NIR Group, is involved in a number of philanthropic pursuits. Not only does his philanthropy - through the philanthropic activities of his company - involve the financial support of various organizations, it also involves the investing of time and effort into these institutions.

One of the examples of Ribotsky's philanthropy is the Children's Medical Fund of New York (CMFNY). Ribotsky and NIR support the Fund, but more importantly, Ribotsky's involvement far surpasses mere philanthropy. Ribotsky serves as the president of the fund, thereby devoting his own person - and not merely his company's financial resources - to the CMFNY

Corey Ribotsky was recently interviewed by Entrepenuer Magazine, the edition that hit the newsstands in June 2008.
Interestingly enough, as an expert on Private Investment Tools, Corey shares information on how the private invester
can invest in otherwise public equities. 

With a weak real estate market, taking what has been called a "wait and see" and "no hurry" attitude
and with a stock market that looks like it may not be as strong as many had hoped it would be,
